Goodbye January 2013, hello February!
January, you were an insanely fast month! Honestly, I feel like just last week Dan and I were in San Diego celebrating our one year anniversary, and now it's just two weeks to our
second married Valentine's Day! Wow. Anyway January, I began my no-sugar diet during you, I made some amazing and reachable goals during you, I failed
a lot during you in areas of my life I thought I was making growth in, I almost lost my faith in Jesus during you, I took care of my hubby, I had the migraine from hell, and started praying that my heart learns forgiveness during you. January, you were a rough start to 2013 and I'm hoping the rest of the year is better than you, because I don't really think you treated me as well as you could've. But, I did make some amazing friends, was told more times than I can count how strong I am for pushing through my fibromyalgia, I learned that I'm worth and valued more than I thought I was, and started taking control of things that I thought were out of my control. (I also officially got my Cali driver's license!) Thanks, January, but I'm glad you're over.
February, welcome! I'm so excited for this month since Valentine's Day is my absolute favorite holiday, so I will
bake a sweet treat for my darling, I'll
continue my no-sugar diet and lose a few more pounds, I will start exercising more, and write more letters to my sweet friends. February, I will
keep a little notebook in my purse at all times to write down thoughts and inspiration rather than clogging up my notebook app on my phone, I'll become serious about being much more frugal, and I'll simplify and get rid of things in our tiny apartment that I'm not using or wearing. I'm excited about this month! Please be kind to me, February, for I love you so.
***I just had this idea: since I have a goal of writing 100 letters in 2013, how would you like to sign up to be my pen pal? Leave me your email address in the comments if you're interested, and let me know if you'd be willing to write me back as well!
Hi Cara! Sounds like January was full for you! It felt like January just begun for me too and now it's over! Hope February treats you better although we all need those "crisis months" to appreciate the peaceful ones!

Having a pen pal has been on my bucket list since middle school & I'm not sure what's been the hold up, lol. Because I know they have websites I can go to, to get in touch with people.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to have a pen pal that lived far away & was able to write in Spanish or English. I do translators, lol. They suck out the emotions & original wording of letters.
I prefer handwritten letters, but emails seem cool too. I can be a penpal of yours :]

I *DON'T* do translations. Woops.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a terrific February! You must have a lot of willpower to have no sweet treats for 30 days, that's great!
ReplyDeleteI just happened upon your blog and am so glad I did! I agree completely-- January flew by without much warning. I am so impressed to hear about your no sugar diet~ that sounds so.... IMPOSSIBLE to me! Maybe I'll join you in that endeavor.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I'm following now, can't wait to read more, and hope maybe you'll stop by to say hey sometime :)

I'm happy January is over as well. Even though February is still a little dreary where I live, at least we have Mardi Gras and a holiday celebrating love! And well done with your goals...I'm setting monthly goals this year as well--much more attainable, and gives you a fresh start every month.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am definitely praying that you will have a lovely February! I, too, had a rough start to the year, but God is so faithful. I'd love to be pen pals with you, if you're interested! Contact me at emequinelass@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

Actually I guess this would make us keyboard pals, but that's not nearly as catchy as pen pals lol.
