  1. If I had $1000 to spend on anything I like, I would spent the majority of it on things to improve my school library, and I'd put the rest in savings.
My library is over 40 years old and you can tell. I have even found books from when my mom was in high school. There's only so much I can do with the limited budget that the school gives us, so I'd love LOVE to be able to really add some great new books that are missing.

    What can I say? I'm a nerd.

  2. If I had $1,000 to spend on ANYTHING... well I would LOVE to spend it on a plane ticket to Colorado but lately I don't want to spend money on ME. I don't really need anything. So I would choose to spend/give it to a Birmingham homeless shelter type organization because we have so many homeless here and it's really starting to break my heart (I've become so numb to it the past 3 years living here). So, that's what I would "spend" my money on.

  3. If I had $1000 to spend I would buy plane tickets for my grandparents to come and visit us. I haven't seen them in 5 years (since my wedding) and they have not "met" my daughter. My Grandma was such a strong influence and role model in my life when I was growing up and I would love my daughter to meet the women who helped raise me!!

  7. If I had to spend a thousand bucks on "fun" stuff, I'd probably redecorate our guest room as a surprise to my husband--he'll be working from home a lot more often now and I would love to surprise him with an office! But ssh don't tell!
If I was going to be super practical about it, I'd pay down our car loan or put it into our house fund. Every little bit helps!

  8. This is probably the most boring answer ever, but I'd pay off some student loans with the money! I will feel so good as soon as I'm done paying them off!

  9. If I had 1000$ to spend on anything I would buy a new camera and a 50mm 1.8 lens! And I would take my husband out to an amazing steak dinner because we are major foodies :)

  10. Right now I would take that $1,000 and put it towards our trip to Astorga, Spain this summer. My husband and I are going on a 2 week trip with a team from our church to make connections with people in Astorga and show them the love of Christ.

  12. I would spend it on new clothes. I am currently 48 lbs down from the day before I had my baby and I intend on losing more. New clothes is my incentive.

  17. Whoops...just saw the question. I think I would spend $1000 on a trip to somewhere tropical. If I couldn't do that, then I would purchase a new computer!

  18. I would pay off Rob's dental bills with that money. We owe about $700 on it but he needs more tooth work so the rest would go to that too. That's reality!

  21. I would use it to help pay of some credit card debt + give the rest to my friend from high school who just found out that she has 4 tumors in her brain + 2 tumors on her spinal cord. She + her family need it more than me right now.

  22. Congrats on the followers! What gorgeous prizes!!

  23. I would use 1,000 dollars to go on a vacation/missions trip or give it to a organization like W.A.R. to help end trafficking.

  24. This is semi private, but honestly if I had $1,000 of my own dollars I would invest it into marriage counseling for my husband and I, andddd possibly get a new shirt :)

  25. Well...I'm a missionary in Haiti. If I had a $1000, I would buy 15 days of food for one of the local schools I help!

  26. I'm going to be a little boring with this one. If I had $1,000, I would put it in my savings towards the down payment on a house.

  27. If I had $1000 to spend I would of course on a bit of a shopping spree... But also I would want to help those in need!

  28. If I had $1,000 extra bucks to spend I would:

Have a family photo shoot with a professional photographer {we haven't had any professional family pictures taken yet} & use the rest to visit our families! We live out of state & with the military cut backs we don't have the luxury of loosely spending $$.

Congrats on 1,000 followers!! :) Thats a HUGE accomplishment.

  29. First... I would give a tenth to my church (so $100), finish paying off my car, and put the rest in savings. I'm frugal :)

  30. what an awesome giveaway! as boring as it is, i would have to use most of the $1000 to go towards my student loans. another portion of it would go towards the kiddo i sponsor from Nicaragua!

  33. Oops. I didn't read what I should comment about before I commented. Mmmmm. A thousand eh? I should put it toward a deposit on a bigger house so that I could try to win more for op-shop/ thrift store visits because if I go straight to shopping my house is going to explode with stuff! But I'd probably still do the latter!

  34. I would put it towards helping my parents renovate their kitchen. It's something they haven't been able to do in the 18 years that they've owned their home, because every time they have enough savings, something else comes up. My mom cooks EVERY SINGLE DAY, as she is expected to in traditional Cuban culture. So she really needs a new kitchen. $1,000 would be a sweet addition to their current savings for it.

    Great question, by the way!

  35. If I had a $1000, I'd have to save it. I'm in dept right now so need to pay back my parents, the government (student loans) and then start just working on having some savings instead of living paycheque by paycheque.
But I'd also probably run and buy something cute to wear, just for fun as well.

  36. Cara! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your nice comment! New follower here!! And I entered to win your giveaway! Crossing my fingers- if I had $1000 I would probably use it towards a nice vaca!

  37. If I had $1000 I would have to put it toward Student Loans!!! Though I rather by cool things, I gotta go all Dave Ramsey on those lame loans! :)

  38. Congrats on 1000 followers! I would spend the money on advertising for my blog and new clothes for spring! I'd probably use the rest on a weekend getaway for the hubby and I.

  39. Hello! If I had $1000, I would buy a plane ticket to Chicago to go visit my family who I miss terribly (I recently moved across the country from my family). I'd use the other money on that trip to take my family to dinner & a day trip into the City (to visit Navy Pier, the Willis Tower, the Museum of Science and Industry) because my family has been so supportive, caring, and giving towards me my entire life, always being there at every sporting event or school function, etc and I'd like to give back to them and show them how appreciate I am of all they've done for me.
